About piscesris
{These things are tough because I'm tough to fit into a little nutshell but here goes} My eyes are green because I eat a lot of vegetables. But seriously, I'm a Brooklyn based "freelance" writer who covets fashion (making semi-satirical commentary on trends), going to music shows, hitting up the specials at bars, and checking out new restaurants.
I write anything and everything (from the hybrid fiction manuscript I'm working on to poetry, scripts, reviews, profiles etc.) Brainstorming and editing are my favorite parts of writing (of course the middle is where all the falling in with the words happens). I'm a big visual person as well...photography (traditional and digital), graphics, sketches, patterns etc.)
I was born in Loveland, Colorado and lived all over that state before moving to Omaha Nebraska to then end up going to High School outside of Baltimore, MD. From there I decided to go to Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY for their Writing for Publication, Performance, and Mass Media program. Been here ever since and just graduated. Attending a liberal art school was one of the best things I've ever done, despite it being very trying most of the time. Great talent comes from Pratt...too bad the economy is getting worse because I don't want the appreciation of art to follow.
There are very few things better than an authentic burrito. Well maybe that simple happy feeling you get when witnessing someone forget about the world while dancing.
I love skate shoes...because I skateboard, although I sew, I don't like needles too much. Nothing in my closet beats out my sweater boots...well maybe the BCBG dress.
My motto: Ever changing, ever attempting to overstand. Happy to contribute to 2threads.com! Keep this site growing and we'll take over the world.

The English country style fashion has hit 2009 and it's welcomed with open arms. I personally love the perfect mix of feminity and masculinity. conversely affectionate toward converse shoes
I wonder if as many people are conversely affectionate toward converse shoes as I am. I have a hard time wearing new converse sneaks because they're just too fresh. Short Bob Haircut
The short bob haircut has swept the nation again in 2008. The bob haircut was a controversal style in its conception a little over 80 years ago. "The bob" or the "3/4" haircut was first introduced in The Great War and took ahold of women around the US during the 1920's. The bob haircut then wasn't just about being sleek and sexy, (as it is today) it was about rebellion and became synonymous with theRead more...

The Lunge into 90's Grunge
Before we take the lunge into 90's grunge, a quick flashback I have a feeling the 90's have only begun to haunt us. Okay, so maybe haunt is the wrong word, I mean, my entire childhood spans the 1990's and I often look back fondly. But I can't help but feel that the 90's will never go away; from rehashing the always dramatic, yet original soap opera for teens, Beverly Hills 90210 into a neRead more...

Hipsterfication: Hipster take over
Too hip for anywhere but Brooklyn: A Hipster, by definition, is a person who is hip. The term was originated in the 1950's and was used to describe those who held a particularly strong sense of alienation from most social activities/relationships. In the 2000's 'hipster' conjures up new concepts that are mostly attached to throw-back turned trendy fashion and underground turned make-you-rip-out-your-hair music.&nbsRead more...
A Toast to Fall Layering
