News: Singer Florence Welch Red Carpet and On Stage Style by lindscm

I recently read an article from the Guardian newspaper that awarded Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine fame)the "We-should-like-her-wardrobe-but-we-just-don’t-care award" stating that "Gaga does a stage-look better and Alexa still pulls off the military blazer and flat shoes with more panache. Plus we’ve not felt very ethereal in 2009, so no matter how hard Florence-chic has been pushed on us, it just hasn’t seemed relevant."

Now I think this is a bit rough, Florence seems like a lovely girl and you couldn't say she was afraid to push the boundaries of fashion. Sure she hasn't created an entire alter ego fashion mostly out of lights and shoulder pads but I think she's enjoying her theatrical o...
News: Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 by MandBM

Thanks to our friends at EMI Australia, Monkey & the BrownMan had the pleasure of experiencing, at ear numbing volumes, the intense and intimate mini concert, or as it's otherwise known, MAX session, that was held on November 23rd at the Sydney Opera House - Studio A.

As huge fans of Ben Harper, we were disillusioned by the thought of seeing him as the support act for Pearl Jam on their world tour, but by chance we were invited to attend his one and only independent live concert hosted by EMI and filmed for MAX.

Studio A at Sydney's Opera House provided an intimate setting for the 100 - 150 lucky concert goers, who by fame, name, or by winning tickets were allowed in to the exclusive venue. And no one was disappointed.

Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 performed songs from their latest album 'White Lies For Dark Times', displaying a raw talent that few bands can contest today. In awe to be only 10 feet from their musical idol, saw most of the audience strangely relaxed at the in... Ben Harper and the Relentless 7 at 2threads

News: Singha Sundays at Ravesis 6th December 2009 by jennalee

Singha Sunday's hit Bondi hot spot Ravesi's for the second time last weekend. To get the party started, Miss Gabby spun tunes from 6-8 followed by DJ Matt Roberts. Guests quickly crowded into Ravesis's to check out the party and enjoy a relaxing Singha induced Sunday evening. Complimentary Singha and canapes were served from 6-7 in the Drift cocktail lounge.

Local Sydney boys, the Bang Gang dj's, hit the decks as the head lining act and got the party pumping. Set against one of Australia's most popular and beautiful backdrops of Bondi, Ravesis brought in a cool local crowd, who were all keen to keep the weekend going well into the night.

Guests on the night feasted on delicious food, all topped off with icy cold Singha beer. The series of Singha Sunday events are set to heat up the Summer pa... Singha Sundays at Ravesis 6th December 2009 at 2threads

News: Stereosonic Sydney 2009 Review by jennalee

Last Saturday the heat sweltered down on Sydney and hoards of festival goers clambered their way through the sweaty crowds into Moore Park and the Horden Pavilion, for Stereosonic 2009. Despite the heat, the festival lived up to its name, with the place packing out from the opening of the gates. Bongo drummers and break dancers kept the crowd entertained as they waited to get inside and security struggled to keep the excited crowd under control.

The festival line up featured a talented mix of local and international acts, all representing the latest in dance music and electronica dominating the club scene. Local acts such as Bag Raiders and Knightlife kept the crowds dancing throughout the day, whilst Swedish act Axwell brought massive crowds to the main stage in the afternoon.

Many of the festival punters came together to witness the line up of international acts, with one highlight being Tim Sweeney, from UK cult outfit DFA records. S... Stereosonic Sydney 2009 Review at 2threads
