MAKE A WISH AUSTRALIA EBONY AND IVORY EXTRAVAGANZA
FRIDAY 18TH APRIL â€" POWERHOUSE ALBERT PARK
My Recipe for the PERFECT Night Out:
1. A fantastic cause, such as Make A Wish Australia. The feeling you get from witnessing a seriously ill child get that special wish granted is amazing, especially when you know that your generosity helped make it happen.
2. The opportunity to participate in live and silent auctions, all the while knowing that any money you depart with is going straight to a wonderful charity
3. A handful of you closest friends, at a big round table, with plenty of wine and great food.
4. A fantastic frock and the opportunity to perve on everyone else’s fantastic frocks.
5. Boys in suits, what’s not to love?
6. Plenty of dancing to a live band.
7. Live entertainment throughout the evening.
8. A fantastic 2Threads photographer…thanks Chris!
Last night was the annual Make A Wish Australia charity ball. It was a night of dress ups, dancing, entertainment and the chance to meet a very special family and see them have one incredible wish granted.
Gian Rooney kicked off the nights event by introducing us to William and his family, who made the trip down from Bendigo especially to attend the ball and have their wish of taking William on safari in South Africa granted. The odd tear rolled as we listened to William’s story, and as his wish was announced and presented to him.
However, the night quickly took on a far more upbeat tone as guests enthusiastically dug deep and participated in live and silent auctions in order to raise money for families like William’s so that further wishes may be granted in the future.
A live band played throughout the night, and the dance floor was packed with guests dressed in their most fabulous black and white ensembles. I got to partake in a favourite pastime throughout the evening â€" ‘cute boy in a suit’ watching…ladies I know you’re with me on this one.
The Make A Wish Foundation Australia certainly take their work seriously, and put together a fantastic night that was certainly enjoyed by all. Everything from the venue to the food to the entertainment was beyond expectation. Can’t wait til next year!
