Will Conner
Following the release of his debut album “Southern Hemisphere” in 2007, Will Conner is set to move the souls of fans all over the country, supporting Jack Johnson on his Australia wide tour in March 2008.
Officially being signed to Japanese label ‘Surf Rock International’ and releasing “Southern Hemisphere” in January 2006, it wasn’t until March 2007 that the album hit Australia’s shores, and has been causing waves all over the local music scene ever since.
The laid back, spirited feel of “Southern Hemisphere” is reflective of the lifestyle Will lead being brought up in the peaceful northern New South Wales community of Byron Bay. Being constantly surrounded by talented musicians and growing up in a music orientated family, Will soaked in all the knowledge they had to offer.
The 14-track album, including debut single “Home”, is a radiating and rhythmically serene album filled with poetic lyrics and impressive vocals. The stand out feature of the album would have to be the talented guitar work, which was recorded using an old Yamaha nylon sting guitar that has been living in Will’s Byron Bay home for the last several years.
Jim Devito, who is coincidently the albums producer, plays the bass and harmonica on all tracks. Drums and percussion are performed by Stan Lynch on 3 of the albums tracks, and 12 tracks feature drummer George Sluppick from U.S Funk act MOFRO.
Being compared to the likes of Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd and John Butler, the best is yet to come from this honest and truly talented musician.
Will Conner’s debut album is available in music stores Australia wide. It can also be ordered through MGM Distribution or online from Will Conner’s official website www.willconner.com
