Black & Blue Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition You Can Count To Ten curated by Greg Perano and containing the works of over 100 artists in 23 well travelled sketchbooks and over 50 original pieces from contributing artists.

In January 2007 Greg Perano sent out the first of the 23 sketchbooks with only one rule  the works had to contain a piece of tape, a method that Perano used to ensure that every bit of imagination was used on every imaginable medium. A concept that harks back to and draws on the simplicity of childhood creativity.

Including international artists such as Tony Conrad and the photography of Derek Henderson and Hugh Stewart exhibiting alongside works such as a hand drawn card by Billy Zane or an illustration by a young Pixie Geldof, You Can Count To Ten is as geographically diverse as it is unique.

Despite the presence of such prominent names Perano  himself a former member of the seminal Hunters & Collectors; cites the exposure to works by up and coming artists such as Ali Noble as the real highlight of the project.

You Can Count To Ten opens at Black & Blue Gallery on 21 February from 6pm-9pm and can be viewed until 9 March, Wednesdays through Sundays, 11am-6pm.
