Sibling labels have been on the rise over the years: think Camilla and Marc Freeman (Camilla and Marc) and Alexander and Genevieve Smart (Ginger & Smart.) Demkiw siblings Nick and Jacqui are the brains behind Melbourne’s White Suede, a label which looks only set to rise in popularity.

The label began in 2003 when Nick, a graphic designer and owner of Bamboo Records joined forces with sister Jacqui, who has a design and marketing background and is the designer for White Suede. In the past, the label has received press in UK Vogue, UK Harpers and was named one of Australia’s most important labels by magazine Oyster.

The Winter 08 range Promises Collection, comprised of edgy-yet-feminine pieces, was debuted at London Fashion Week in February. Romanticism Fades, the Summer 08 range, draws inspiration from the 70s and 80s and features pretty floral dresses, man-style blouses and girly camisoles with lace detailing.

White Suede, which has previously been labelled the ‘One to Watch’ is stocked by leading boutiques in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles and Copenhagen, as well as Australia.
