What's The Best Mascara For Me? Jessica Alba and Kate Moss, Their Favourite Mascara Brands
Knowing what colour foundation suits you is easy but the best mascara for you isn't so simple. Celebrities like Jessica Alba and Kate Moss seem to have everything going for them, long, lush lashes included.
Jessica Alba [face of Revlon] with long lashes, helped by Revlon 3D Extreme Mascara and Kate Moss [face of Rimmel] with long lashes, helped by Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender.
Long lashes seems to be one of the most unattainable goals in history but don't fear, because it can be done. The trick involves picking a truly great mascara (note* they don't have to be expensive) and a handful of application experience. Even if you have the best mascara in the world it's not going to do what it can if you don't know what to do with it.
Everybody is going to have their own special mascara secrets but here's mine: I use Covergirl LashBlast Mascara for my top lashes and Rimmel Lash Maxxx for my bottom lashes. Like most great ideas this one came to me when I was faced with a dilemma: I had received the Rimmel mascara for my birthday after I had already purchased and fell in love with the Covergirl one. Feeling guilty, I decided to use both, the thicker brush (Covergirl) for my top lashes and the thinner brush for my inner lashes and bottom lashes. It really works wonders on my lashes putting them up and out, curled to perfection.
What I use: CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara and Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara
Celebrities have their own make up artists so you wont look as fab as them but here is a list of some celebs and the mascara they swear by:
Queen Latifa- Lash Exact by Covergirl
Penelope Cruz- Telescopic by Loreal
Adriana Lima- Volume Express by Maybelline
Like with the type of mascara everyone will have their different tips on actual application. Some say wiggle, some say roll the brush. I use the brush in swift, fluid movements, mainly because I'm terrified the brush will hit me in the eye and because that's also what works best for me. One great tip is to use a clean mascara brush [clean a brush when you have finished with a mascara] and brush wet lashes with the mascara-free brush. It works best for the days you don't want to wear any mascara or for those who simply don't like to wear it.
Another great tip is to wear a mascara primer. Like a primer for your face, make up artists swear by this product. I have never tried it personally but those who have say only use it for special occassions because it is an added step that you may not always have time for.
Always use an eyelash curler after application of mascara. However, make sure your mascara is dry before curling. A great tip is to hit your eyelash curler with heat from your hairdryer before curling lashes. You can also try an electric eyelash curler.
With these tips you should be able to head to your nearest make up store in the search for the perfect mascara and lash accessories.
Only with practice will you be able to gauge which mascara that is best for you. I do recommend CoverGirl Lash Blast above anything else. I love the length it gives my lashes. For those who have barely there lashes I recommend Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara it curls lashes perfectly. In fact, even those with good lashes to begin with should try this one. It works wonders and many people recommend it. The uniqueness of the brush gives it an edge over the rest.
