Last Friday, March 27th, flocks of adoring fans lined up against the red carpet of the Vodafone MTV Awards in the hopes of getting a glimpse of their favourite celebrity. The 2009 Vodafone MTV Awards was held at Darling Harbours Convention Centre and celebrities traveled from all around the globe to make it to the star studded event. Hosting the evening was Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz (Ashlee Simpsons new hubby), who introduced an array of musical talent from Kings of Leon to The Kaiser Chiefs and Jessica Mauboy.

As always the MTV Awards were much about the fashion and glamour of the industry, with a few unexpected fashion pieces doning the red carpet. Whilst model Jordan Loukas went for the sheer trend, Ruby Rose chose to adorn herself in gold sequins and embellished detail. Overall the fashions were a mixture of red carpet glamour and contemporary detail like feathers, lace and beading.

The night was a success for Australian artists such as Jessica Mauboy and Sneaky Sound System who walked away with awards, whilst international stars including Britney Spears and Katy Perry were amongst the main winners (they were not present on the night however.) After a hugely successful award ceremony, the party kicked on well into the night at Sydney's Hilton Hotel.
