Being a celebrity is hard work. You are always in the public eye and you’re well aware of what is happening around you, meaning people are constantly judging you on what you’re wearing and how you look. At time celebrities are pressured to reinvent their own signature style, or for some, reinvent past styles. How your hair looks is one of the most important aspects of being a celebrity. So important that Jessica Simpson has to bring out her own hair product line! For some celebrities they spend thousands of dollars on hair colouring, plug-ins and extensions to get noticed on the red carpet. And it usually pays off.

Over the past decade we have seen numerous times where the ‘Marilyn Monroe’ look has come in and out. Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Anna Nicole Smith and Scarlet Johansson are just some of the stars that are constantly reinventing Marilyn’s blonde bombshell look. And I’ve got to admit it has worked out for them every time.

As we look back in the past, our ancestors have certainly brought out a lot of timeless styles like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Twiggy, Veronica Lake, and Ingrid Bergman. All offering their own unique hairstyle on and off the screen. Some celebrities can get a way with it, like Natalie Portman with the more modernized crop pixie cut similar to that of Audrey Hepburn, or the elegant style Sarah Jessica Parker tried when channelling Grace Kelly.

For some it might not always work. Amy Winehouse might be seen as unique but she might want to re-do the do every now and then.

To recreate your own vintage hairstyle, you don’t have to spend hours in the salon. Now we have curling irons, hair straighteners and our beloved blow-dryers to speed up the process to modernize any look from the past.
