The Bohemian Fashion Trend
The bohemian fashion trend is always a trend that I follow year after year because, well, I live a pretty untraditional semi-impoverished lifestyle of a writer and my style generally reflects that of a true urban Bohemian. This trend is easily accessible because there is a lot of room to make it your own. Sienna Miller, the Olsen twins, and other celebrities show us how to wear the bohemian fashion trend.

Sienna Miller and the Olsen twins are the epidomy of bohemian 1960's fashion. Sienna Miller's floral flowy top is a great boho look, it's simple and sexy for any body type. The bohemian fashion trend is all about accessories, Sienna Miller's leather studded belt and leather purse look like they're straight from the 60's and can be added to any style of outfit to add some boho flavor. Jean vests (or jackets), easy crochet vests, or suede vests are bohemian essentials, along with boots and peasant skirts/dresses. Ashley Olsen's purple floral peasant mumu/dress looks comfortable and girly. I'm in love with her floppy hippy hat, which reminds me of a certain female musican fashion icon (Janis Joplin). Mary Kate is known for her boho fashions and here she rocks the ripped flare jean like a pro and her bohemian hippy top has great Native American embellishment. Her bag adds a vintage feel that is unmistakably boho chic.
If you're not so sure of going full on bohemian, there are ways to add some of the vibe with accessories. Paris Hilton wears a funky woven headband that would look great with any color or style of hair, especially braided. Hillary Duff sports fabulous Minnetonka fringe boots with a sheer Simeon Farrar scarf, both add some boho quality that's great for all seasons.

Even the 2008-09 fall/winter fashion runways are supporting the Bohemian fashion trend, Frida Giannini for Gucci refers to the look as Bohemian Luxury. These looks are a little over-the-top for street wear but they're the essence of the ultra sexy and funky fashion trend.

Tips for the bohemian fashion trend:
If you're looking to take this trend all the way, go for it. Great Bohemian tops can be found at hautehippie.com, american eagle and urban outfitters. Look for flowy tops with simple Native American or floral patterns. Layer on vests and sweaters. Bohemian skirts and dresses are rarely short so go for flowing skirts like peasant or even corduroy is a huge boho hit. When going for the bohemian look with jeans, the more comfortable, the better: loose ripped jeans or tight bell bottoms are so boho it hurts. Sandles and moccasins are great for the spring and summer, cowboy boots, fringe, or moccasin boots are perfect for the fall and winter. Bohemian colors are generally earth tones but when you get into funky patterns you can go with any color that suits you.
If you're just trying to get the bohemian vibe without going all the way, then try the accessory route. Vintage jewelry usually oozes boho, loose scarfs, funky beaded and leather belts (worn loosely on the hips) are so bohemian chic, and wearing a headband speaks boho in volumes without screming "look-at-me-i'm-so-boho!"
This look is timeless, are you going to go boho?
