Meet Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough. Together they are dance music's favourite Australian DJ duo TVROCK.

You guys met...
At the bar in the Prince Of Wales in Melbourne about 4 years ago.

TVROCK was born when...
We started off doing one remix together as I was looking to do some production and Ivan had a track that he wanted a hand with and that was a success, so we did another and another eventually working full time together.

The journey so far...
It's been great!

Musical talent began to surface when...
Ivan was tinkering with keyboards from about the time when he was 15 and I played sax for 10 years at school. So while not necessarily classically taught we had a history in the musical genre.

You like to listen to...
Personally, any style [of music] that is not dance when we are making it all day, but in the studio at the moment drawing from a lot of 90s influences.

Apart from music, you love...
Food... we are both massive foodies!

Inspired by...
Anyone prepared to push the envelope.

A word of advice for aspiring DJs...
Make some beats as that gets heard everywhere, not just australia

The hardest part of the job...
People love to hate people who have had some success, I think that you always need to write something that you love and not what you think people may like.

Your favourite remix...
Probably higher state of consciousness or reach for me- both because when I grew up I loved those records so wanted to really do them due diligence.

Your friends say you are...
Motivated.

Your sense of style is...
Getting into the threads that are going to be big or have a classic feel to them. We like being that one step ahead.

Being a DJ involves...
Predicting the trends and conducting the dance floor.

You're attracted to profession...
For the love of music.

Winning the Arias...
Was a surreal experience! Having dance people up collecting the highest selling single... it was crazy. I think that we will look back in 20 years and realise the significance of it then.

Your favourite Australian city...
They both rock... Sydney has its own flavour and Melbourne is always the place to call home.
