Shutting It Down with 'The Rachel Zoe Project'.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but business in the rehab sector is slowing down. For about a year there, resort-style clinics were busier than the actual drug dealers responsible. Now, celebrities are too busy piecing back together their shattered reputations to visit Promises... again. Fortunately for the rehabs though, there's a new addiction in town. And this one isn’t just for the rich and famous, but also those with an interest in the rich and famous. If you have an interest in fashion to boot, you’d better sit down – with a paper bag to hyperventilate into. Introducing the Rachel Zoe Project. I watched the first episode when it debuted on Arena earlier this week and almost wet my pants at how perfect it was. When I have a new TV show obsession, I usually show some restraint by waiting out the ensuing week with buzzing anticipation for the next episode. But this one my friend, is one very large exception. I just came out the other end of a Zoe marathon thanks to the wonderous internet, and I'm asking that you pleeease watch this show. Once upon a time, I watched in awe as LC from the Hills swanned about Teen Vogue during her internship. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to entertain desperados like me; actually showing inside the empire, following them around at fashion shows and sitting in on them while they gossiped at their desks – it was like I was actually working there without the ass kickings. Genius! But that was then, and Rachel Zoe is now!!! In other words, if LC and Rachel engaged in a royal life-off, Rachel would totally win.

These are my top 5 reasons why Rachel Zoe = Very Large Medical Bill:

1. The Zoe-isms – you might call them lame, I call them bananas. Oh look, theres one now!
Bananas: HOT. i.e. "you look bananas".
Shut it down: totally rock that s**t out. i.e. "we are shutting it down right now".
I die: I love. i.e. "I die for this dress".
Try and use these in a sentence today.

2. The Assistants – First styling associate Taylor has got some serious attitude problem going on, and although she has slightly cool hair, it doesn’t really make up for her super meanness to the cute and very camp new second styling associate, Brad, who is possibly the most best-dressed guy ever without Rachel's help. Think purple sweaters, crisp white collars and big black bow ties. Oh, and did I mention he worked at Vogue? Enough. Said.

3. The Studio – Where the magic happens. Rails and rails of pieces lent to Rachel by “dear friends” such as Valentino, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors. Like, i love my friends more than anything, but COME ON. Unpacking boxes has never been this glamorous.

4. The Rachel Closet – More fur, leopard print and oversized accessories than you could poke this season's most coveted stick at. Other than that, I'm sure you can imagine what the highly sought after stylist's closet looks like all on your own. Yes, it really does look like that.

5. The World – I'm pretty sure its safe to say most of us will never get to experience the Rachel Zoe world (at least with ourselves being higher than the photocopy girl who has never actually met the boss - although i would die for even this job). But don’t you just wish you could? Her life is simply overflowing with business meetings, red carpets, runway shows and being chauffeured in limousines while drinking venti Starbucks skinny soy macchiatos.  See how many you can actually spot – I stopped counting at about one million per second.

Possibly the best thing about this show is that it is just so damn inspiring. If you're trying to break into the fashion world, the first episode alone will make you jump from the couch, punch the air with your fist and start writing an immediate plan titled "How I Will Become Rachel Zoe-Famous in Seven Days". At the top of your list you might like to include the task, 'BUY ENTIRELY NEW WARDROBE', as this show also makes you never want to lay eyes on your very sad clothes ever again.

So you go watch the entire season, and I will see you at the detox centre for Overcoming Zoe Addiction 101 tomorrow morning. BYO maxi fur coat and green tea frappucino!
