Sydney now: new Australian photojournalism

For all those photography and art lovers out there, the Australian photojournalism is not to be missed! Photography is a beautiful art form, and at 2threads we can not operate if it weren’t for our photographers. Photographs of ordinary things in everyday life to picturesque collaborated scenes are featured in this year’s ‘Sydney Now’ exhibition.

This exhibition celebrates the reflecting lifestyle of the contemporary Sydneysiders’ life. With over 100 images by 24 photographers taken since 2000 – 2007, it documents ordinary people’s lives rather than the much publicized tragedies in the media or celebrities. Photojournalism is a form of art and literature, one must be able to critically analyse the photograph in order to decode the message that the photographer, as well as the object in the photograph, is sending. Many stories can be said about the one photograph. The flamboyant array of colours in the photographs has said to create a sense of movement distinctive to the new digital media of the internet culture. This is one exhibition not to be missed out on this summer in Sydney!

Check out this exhibition at the Museum of Sydney, on the site of the first Government House, free with the museum entry.
