Style Queen Alexa Chung

In The Time's "Small Screen Goddess" interview, Alexa Chung said, “I’ve used up all that neurosis [poor body image resulting from modeling] – there’s none left. I’d rather have a bigger brain than smaller bones.”  I just fell in love with this 25 year old "It Girl" from Britain.

Style Queen Alexa Chung is not only a beautiful face, she's got brains and a sense of humor too.  She's a British TV presenter with an sprouting acting career, a columist for the UK magazine, The Independent, she's the face/spokeswomen for Oxfam's Ethical Fashion Range, along with walking the occasional catwalk (recently Vivienne Westwood's Red Label Spring/Summer 2009 line). 

Alexa Chung garnered the "It Girl" label in 2007, when she began gracing the "Best Dressed Lists" and gained respect for her quirky yet down-to-earth fashion sense.  What I love about her is the girl-next-door vibe, which mixes well with her (seemingly) effortless looks.  When watching her answer on-the-spot interview questions, she's charming and honest.  Being a blonde myself, I'm always more intrigued by darker-haired women, and Alexa Chung's look is a little extra exotic due to her grandfather being Chinese.

I feel like no matter what she puts on, the style will be copied.  It's simple yet adventurous.  Here are some of my favorite looks:

I adore Alexa's look on the left, it's laid back with an English country feel.  Her hat is fun and draws attention to her gorgous face.  Sometimes I'm torn on the hicked-up skirt look but it's super flirty here and by pairing it with a graphic tee and cardigan she oozes casual sophistication.

Alexa Chung's chunky Moschino heels scream Mary-Kate Olsen, only she's got a great androgynous feel to her outfit and she pulls it off perfectly.  By wearing this spunky vintage dress she shows the world she's not scared to step into something different.  The cut of the dress is simple and modest but the pattern is daring and funky.  I also love her long chain necklace and flat ballerina shoes.
