It's that time of year again...the cardis and gumboots are unashamedly unpacked from our closets, the car is loaded up with clothes and alcohol (well, mostly alcohol) and we trek our way up north to Byron Bay for the annual Splendour in the Grass festival.
No one thought that the Brit-explosion at last year's festival (Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Lily Allen) could be topped but this year's lineup is nothing short of unmissable. Headliners Devo are sure to rock the socks off both young and old with their 80's tunes, and Iceland's Sigur Ros will showcase their mellow, ethereal tunes.
The list of Aussie acts included in the lineup is what the Homebake lineup should look like every year. Aussie boys from Wolfmother are predicted to bring the house down with snarling riffs and Stockdale's impressive voice, and The Living End will no doubt bring out the wild side of the Splendour audience with crowd favourites such as Prisoner of Society and All Torn Down. Chuck into the mix electro-gods The Presets, the crazed members of the Vines and those bubbly young 'uns from Operator Please and you've got a near-perfect line up.
So rug up, get your caffeine hit ready because this year's Splendour in the Grass festival is going to be a bumpy ride..and that's just to get tickets.
Tickets go on sale Thursday 22nd May @ 9am. Buy tickets from www.splendourinthegrass.com
