Shop Sydney: DavidmetNicole
What do you get when you mix a creative English man with a Sydney woman longing for adventure? The answer is DavidmetNicole, an eclectic retail shop located in Sydney's Surry Hills. DavidmetNicole is a treasure trove of furniture, lighting, homewares and women's clothing. Vintage finds exist alongside more contemporary pieces, and you are bound to find some rather unique and intriguing gifts.

When David Page met Nicole in London, where Nicole was working at a large vintage and collectables store, the two decided they needed a sea change and moved to Australia to explore their creative drives. Together they opened their store DavidmetNicole, inspired by their mutual love of all things vintage and stylish. DavidmetNicole has a distinct London-inspired style and it hits you as soon as you enter the store. The first room is literally crammed from floor to ceiling with interesting pieces from around the globe; huge vintage maps, number plates, deer heads mounted on the walls and oversized lighting pieces hang from every place. You can pick and mix your own treats, there is everything from candles to 'noir inspired' light globes, wooden alphabetical letters, vintage bags and jewellery.

As you squeeze your way carefully through the first room of eclectic and quirky homewares, you reach the second room where the real fashion lovers will be drawn. A large vintage couch with a united kingdom flag print is settled beneath more deer heads upon the walls. (If only the couch was for sale- i wanted it!)

Vintage clothing lines one side of the room, sporting the DavidmetNicole label. Opposite is an array of current designers who range from Laurence Pasquier, Therese Rawsthorne, Bassike and Gorman, plus more. The contrast between vintage finds and more established designer labels is perfect for this charming store. Different cultures and time periods blend together and welcome you into a world of stylish and unusual design. DavidmetNicole also offers customers interior design advice, where they incorporate their existing pieces from the store or design one-off pieces.

This little world hidden in the streets of Sydney is filled with inspiring design pieces, my only advice is be careful when walking through it as everything is literally piled ontop of one another! DavidmetNicole is the perfect place for op-shop and vintage lovers who live and breathe style. The hours spent searching for goodies at vintage stores has already been done for you, all you need to do is make a decision on which treat you want!
