Stephanie Overs is a young woman taking the Australian fashion and art world by storm with her love for love, music and fashion.

What is "Smitten by Stephanie"?
Smitten by Stephanie is my outlet for ideas through a naive style of themed illustration.Smitten shows life moments in ice cream cones, small expressions of language in the idea that a crush is something painful. Bells and bows, cupids arrows, subway citys, indians and vampires. I love to dress up in pictures whilst expressing feelings and moments.

How did the journey begin?
With a note book and pen... a facination with love and the feeling of being smitten before, after, it amazes me how consuming love is. I started drawing pictures of how was feeling and began sharing them online through myspace.This was nearly two years ago and then mid 2006 I won Australias hottest TShirt Competition run though VRaw, Oneteaspoon and General Pants. The success of this prompted me to leave my job as an audio studio assistant to work full time as an illustrator this is where I began my own fashion label Once smitten twice shy. And im still working closley with these guys from the competition, I did live painting at Sydney Semi-Permanent in March for the launch of the Vraw project and just recently with Oneteaspon I have designed the graphics for Summer 2008 range for Little Lady From [Oneteaspoon's litttle sister label]. In between I am just working away on a few personal projects.

Can you tell me more about Once smitten Twice Shy?
Once smitten twice shy is a fashion label themed on my illustrations. It will be available from my online store which will be re-opening very soon and for Sydney shopping you can find me at from St Xavier in Bondi and Disrupt in Surry Hills.

Who has influenced you most professionally?
Weelliam! he taught me everything about moving drawings on to computers. Check out his website www.weelliam.com

Who has influenced you most personally?
Myself as a child. And maybe a few boys :)

What has been the best experience so far in creating "Smitten by Stephanie"?
Seeing someone cute wearing my clothes!

Hello Kitty, Minnie Mouse, Fafinettes, Strawberry Shortcake, Claus Oldenberg, Andy Warhol and Audrey Hepburn
How would you describe yourself ?
Nostalgic, contemplative, melodious and naive.

What is your favourtie book?
The Dictionary! and probably Alice in Wonderland.

What do you like to eat for breakfast?
Cookies,crumpets and ice-cream and cake with strawberries.

What has been your favourite fashion trend?
Can this include a hair style? I’m obsessed with High Pony Tails with a bow forever. I dont care how old I get.

Where do you hope to take "Smitten by Stephanie" in the future?
To London, to Tokyo, to San Fran, to the streets and to the clock tower. One day I hope to have a Smitten by Stephanie Hot Air Balloon so I can fly through the clouds.
