So many Hollywood celebrities have kids now, it's hard to keep track, but I have compiled a list of the top 5 stylish and sexy Hollywood Mums. Having a baby doesn't mean you lose yourself in the stretch marks and saggy skin. You can be a mum and stylish too.

1. Reese Witherspoon: mum to Ava Elizabeth and Deacon Reese

 

Being an Oscar winner doesn't come close to being a mum for Reese. On motherhood and her career she said: “I just try to take care of the kids first. I try to sort out their lives and their school and make sure everything’s good with their lives. If the kids are happy, the parents are happy. So once I have all that kind of sorted, it’s much easier to get on with my life and that kind of thing".

Reese is divorced from the father of her children, Ryan Phillippe, and is now dating Jake Gyllenhaal. She always puts her children first. In the above picture you can see she's quite happy to take time out, put on shorts and a singlet, and go for a walk with her kids. I aslo love that Reese can move away from simply being a mum and always look good.

 

2. Kate Hudson: mum to Ryder.

 

Kate is different, fun and quirky. She's a fabulous actress and also a single mother. Kate is amazing to me especially that her and her ex, Chris Robinson can be friends and cival. She had Ryder quite young but insists she doesn't regret it. She said: “Am I going to look back and say, ‘God, I wish I could have gone to that concert?’ I’d rather be listening to my son sing songs. I’d rather be watching him sleep.”

Kate has amazing style (she is a client of Rachel Zoe). She looks great in jeans and a top (as above) and fantastic going out.

 

3. Kelly Ripa: mum to Michael, Lola and Joaquin

I love Relly Ripa. She's the host of Live with Regis and Kelly and she's gorgeous and funny. She truly loves her kids, just look at her face when she talks about them, which she does, a fair bit. She is happily married to the father of her children, Mark Consuelos, and is one of those effortlessley chic but nice New York mums.

Of her family life she said: "Marriage and having kids really agrees with us. Mark helps with homework, while I'll do a baking project for school. We look at each other and think, if our friends could see us now, they wouldn't believe what we've become! We really enjoy what our life has developed into. I try to do it all, and I don't do any of it particularly well. But at least I try. Sometimes the cookies get burnt, but what are you going to do?"

Ripa's style is one to be adored and envied and, in fact, it is. on Live they have a spot where Ripa's outfit is shown and named so viewers can dress just like her. She's tiny but healthy, cute and not overtly sexy, can poke fun at herself and she just seems fun!

 

4. Kate Winslet: mum to Mia and Joe.

Kate Winslet is an Oscar nominated actress and she's fabulous: humorous, light-hearted. She has been married twice: once to the father of daughter Mia, James Threapleton and is still currently married to father of Joe, Sam Mendes.

Of motherhood she says: "Being a wife and mum is just great and I enjoy every minute of it."

"I know I'm supposed to be in love with my work and with Hollywood and all that. But while I like my work, I love my family and know which would come first if I had to choose. It would be no contest."

Kate is not only a mother, a wife and a fantastic actress she also has an essence of old hollywood glamour. She readidly admits that she may be a bit "fat" (so far from it) and that she could make more of an effort sometimes but I think she's great no matter what.

 

5. Nicole Richie: mother to Harlow

New mother to the pack, Nicole Richie, made pregnancy and motherhood look glamorous. She has moved away from past images and is now doting mother to Harlow. Father and boyfriend Joel Madden round out this family.

I'm not really sure of her career so suffice to say I wont comment on Nicole juggling her career and motherhood. Being a mum apparently domesticated Nicole who used to be a regular on the party scene. On motherhood she says: "it's beyond amazing it's definitely like nothing I could have imagined."

While we haven't seen very much of Nicole and little Harlow I really do think that she is one of the few sexy and stylish Hollywood mums who really seem to care about their children. Aside from motherhood Nicole is also a style setter. She's one of the new IT girls and she dresses amazingly.

 

I really do think that there is no harder job than being a mum. It takes time and effort and a lot of patience to be able to care and raise children. Maybe Hollywood celebs have it easier because they can afford nannies, so what? They're still mothers and they still look sexy and stylish doing it. Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Kelly Ripa, Kate Winslet and Nicole Richie are certainly yummy-mummies and I guess we'll just have to wait and see how their kids turn out.

One final note: no mothers who pop out and adopt children as much as they change their underwear is featured or will ever be featured in anything written by me.
