Santogold is solid in my eyes.  I'm utterly shocked when people haven't heard of her and I'm equally elated when I can hear someone listening to her on their ipod.  Her first album dropped this year and it's sensational.  She's easily comparable to M.I.A (best known for her Airplanes song) because they do have similar sounds and work together on occasion.

Here she is, on the left, with M.I.A, in Brooklyn.  They're innovating hip-hop and dance hall music along with fashion.  They're unstoppable (also the name of an execellent Santogold song). They maximize on feel-good music and their appeal is endless. 

Although M.I.A's music has been making my life more complete for the past four years, Santogold has added an exciting momentum to strong women in the music industry.  Her message is to do what you do but do it right.  I don't forsee her leaving the scene any time soon and I encourage everyone to check out her sound and style.
