Remember watching the TV show, ‘Full House’, a time when the Olsen Twins were once adorable, didn’t it just make you want to visit San Francisco?

San Francisco is renowned as the most liberal city in the United States. In the 1960s it was home base to the psychedelic and groovy hippies. Now days, it has the largest gay population in the world.

The best time to visit is during September and October where there are plenty of blue skies, often rare as you’ll discover, as most of the time the city is covered in fog.

Just like you see in the movies, the city is formed by hilly roads. At the top of Lombard Street, the most crooked street in the world, you’ll find the best views of San Francisco, a city littered by beautiful Victorian style houses. Thankfully (if you’re the lazy type like me when you’re on holidays) you don’t have to walk up any of them. Instead, catch a ride on the old school cable cars that will take you from one end of the city to the other. It’s a great way to check out the city as it takes you through the different parts of town. And the fun bit is that you can hang off on the side like a kid!

San Francisco’s most famous monument, the Golden Gate Bridge is seen at its best during the day when the sun's rays are gently reflecting off the copper red steel structure. But make sure you bring a light jacket as it can get fairly windy up there.

And never forget to bring your camera, no matter where you are in San Francisco because you’d be snapping shots of the city like there’s no tomorrow!
