SPRING FASHION TREND: HAREM PANTS (AND WHERE TO BUY HAREM PANTS ONLINE)
I know it's hard to think about the summer when it's this cold, but I am into the future of trends. The hot spring fashion trend, or one of them at least is the harem pants. They've been hanging around fashion for a while appearing on the catwalk at Balmain and YSL for Autumn/Winter '08 but looks likely to be even bigger in the Spring. The Aladdin style trousers have already been worn by Naomi Campbell but are soon to be available in brighter shades. They were spotted on the Spring '09 catwalk at Alexander McQueen (left), Betsey Johnson (right) and Chloe (center) to name but a few.
Harem Pants
Harem pants were all over the spring 2009 runways from New York to London and Paris to Milan. Last season they were billowy and clown-like but this year’s take on the trend is a narrower, sleeker version and look surprisingly sophisticated and sexy, especially in black.
Other designers who make their mark when it comes to harem-pieces are Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Elie Tahari, Jeremy Laing, and Yves Saint Laurent. Some of the most wearable looks come from the runways of Diane Von Furstenberg this spring, check out her sleek satin pants and embellished tops.
Stella McCartney Harem Pants
Where you can buy these bad boys online? You can purchase Silk Harem Pants for $198.00 at Bergdorf Goodman or Robert Rodriguez Eased Harem Pants for $297.00 at Nordstrom. Shopstyle.com is also a great place to look, just search for harem pants and you have yourself a full list of items. If you are looking for a more inexpensive look, I found a pair of very similar pants to the Stella McCarntney pants above from forever21.com for $27.80
