It seems that a majority of successful Sydney fashion designers have begun their sparkling careers at the prestigious East Sydney Tafe. One notable gem in this delightful group of talents has been eclectic designer Ruby Smallbone.

Her self titled fashion label has already gained worldwide status and attention from a range of fashion admirers. Her clothes have graced their way into the wardobes of Isla Fischer and Mischa Barton to name a few.
So what makes Ruby Smallbone stand aside from the crowd? Notably her bright and courageous prints have helped her pieces get noticed. Inspirations of decades past, particularly the 70's and 80's have been reinstated into modern interpretations. Pieces shown at this years RAFW featured fluid and sophisticated tailoring. Lighter shades of whites and pinks highlight the versatility and easy fit of this latest collection.
What is most stunning about the Ruby Smallbone label is the understated elegance of each piece, contrasting beautifully with subtle hints of past influences in fashion. Ruby Smallbone is not only a contemporary label that keeps up with the fast paced fashion industry but at the same time there is a sense of timelessness in each piece, and this is what makes the Ruby Smallbone empire so promising.
Being a lover of Ruby Smallbone's more classic and lighter pieces, I'm interested to know who is in favour of the bold prints seen below and who prefers the more muted and paler pieces?
