Summer Garden parties usually conjure up thoughts of ladies in cloche hats and frilled dresses snacking on cucumber sandwiches, but Bungalow 8’s Summer Garden Party couldn’t have been any further from this notion.

Rock the Kasbah kicked off on a balmy Thursday evening and although the long weekend was still a day away the venue was packed to the brim and it seemed that everyone was happy to get the party started early. The crowd was in high spirits and drinks and canapés flowed steadily in the early hours keeping everybody entertained and pretty chuffed.


There was a feel of Marrakech in the air, and it wasn’t just because of the heat of the day that still lingered. Belly dancers (complete with snakes!), tarot readers and even the wait staff were kitted up to give a feel of Arabian nights. The swanky Bungalow 8 was barely recognizable and had been transformed into setting which would be fit for a scene in Aladdin.

It was the perfect night of frivolity, and considering the weather that pursued starting the long weekend a little early turned out to be the best option yet.
