Ready to Wear Collection #5, Thurs 1st May, 2008

Designers on show: Honey Hartley, Vineet Bahl, Eileen Kirby & Alexandra Nea.

Honey Hartleys Spring Summer range for women was hued in white, black, pink, multi-coloured prints, and newspaper print. Corsets, blazers and big layered, frilly skirts were the most notable styles in this collection. A matching top hat gave one look an almost-18th century feel, while a green/black print string bikini with matching opaque thigh-high stockings added a burlesque touch.

Vineet Bahl used a lot of whites with black florals in his spring summer collection for women. Flapper-style dresses, elements of sheer, draped sleeves, crotchet, beading at hem and waist, silks and frills made this an ultra feminine collection. Perfect for racedays, and women who want to feel like princesses throughout the summer.

Eileen Kirby opened her “Kirby Purrs” collection for women with a bright pink empire line strapless dress with a gorgeous floaty skirt and gem detail in the middle of the bust. However, the rest of the collection was in more muted shades of white, grey, pale pink, sky blue and lilac " with dresses more appropriate for the day. The ranged was mixed with elements of street wear, most notably a grey metallic overlay dress on a white tea with a fluoro print.

Alexandra Nea used black, pale pink, grey, and a hint of florals for her Spring Summer. Lyaered frill neck blouses, waisted A-line pleated knee length skirts, bows and wide leg trousers gave her collection a sweet, feminine professional look. Yet a mix of full length and to-the-knee silk dresses made her range versatile enough to wear as eveningwear.
