Rave in Camperdown closes Parramatta Road

I heard about this party through the grapevine on Facebook. I was only told the location of it via text message around 7pm Saturday. Clinton and I decided on the way home from a mate's farewell that we'd drop by and see a friend.

The warehouse with its many levels was absolutely packed. Interesting mix of party goers, trendoids and rednecks. There was no trouble. Just dancing. Each level had a DJ. There were lasers and installations everywhere.

A guy on the second level was selling sangria. $4 a cup, I thought it was pretty steep considering it was so dark there could have been anything in that dirty punch bowl.

It was only until the next day when a friend who we had seen there told us about the police and the closing of Parramatta Rd. We had left about 30 minutes before this happened.

In my opinion it was a very peaceful event. People were just going there to dance. There didn't seem to be any damage to property, just decorative improvement. I don't see why Parramatta road had to be closed.

The warehouse was probably saying to itself, after being used by BBQ's galore for so many years, 'finally, some funky action.'
