Polo Ralph Lauren celebrates 40 years in the business, its Chatswood store has opened up after business hours to show case some of spring/summer collection. Joining this intimate fashion show was the very appropriate Fiona Lane, fashion director for Madison. Fiona was the commentator for the night, giving helpful tips and hints on how to look your best for the summer. One thing I’ve learnt from her is never wear high heels with shorts, but wedges will do the trick.

This season we can expect to see the ‘Boho’ look coming in, with ambassador like Carrie Bradshaw (from Sex and the City) it can’t go wrong. With a bikini top and white pants and a good striped blazer, you’re ready for the summer. White is the colour to wear for this season suggested by Ms Lane herself, “and don’t forgot the neutral colours, you can always dress the neutral colours with light colours to create the classy look”. The look that Polo is introducing this season is the new polo shirts with the giant equestrian print and board shorts for the Aussie blokes. Yes, that’s right, you’ve heard it here first Polo has their very own boardies.

Ralph Lauren presents a limited edition book, which weighs a tonne (no just kidding, but it really is heavy), showcasing his work from the early days and photographs of promotions, drawings of his collection, this book is an intimate look behind the man who created this label. It was said that his wife is his number inspiration, that he usually look at her style to get inspired for new looks of the season. This coffee book is a must have for all Polo fan.

The night was beautifully organised and was well dressed by those who attended. The stigma of Ralph Lauren would prompt anyone to get dressed up for his event. Tasty hors d'oeuvres and champagne were also provided making the event feel sophisticated with high customer service.
