RAFW Hits and Misses

HITS

Hit 1:
The Protégé Collection featuring huge knitted shapes in one of the featured designer’s collections.

Hit 2:
I didn’t know whether to write this one up as a hit or miss, but after much deliberation I decided that Material Boy's memorable plastic covered seats and eerie piano music deserved to be a hit. I give them points for being different!

Hit 3:
Gorman’s Ship Shop promoting sustainable fashion was a definite hit.

Hit 4:
The hunky, shirtless drink boys with their angelic wings keeping us hydrated during shows.

Hit 5:
Free goodie bags and Havianas.

Hit 6:
Supplying enough breakfast in the media room for hungry eds, journos and photographers.

Hit 7:
Dion Lee from the 4 Boys TAFE parade. This guy is one designer to keep a close eye on.

Hit 8:
The apparent free Blackberry’s for front-rowers at the Frisoni Finetti show.

Hit 9:
An endless supply of coffee – there is a God!

MISSES

Miss 1:
Beck and Bridge’s beaded curtain falling down mid show and almost taking a model out in the process.

Miss 2:
At a mid-week after party organisers were busted for letting in under age models to the nightclub venue.

Miss 3:
A New Zealand designer who featured war medals in her collection had to make a formal apology through Simon Lock of IMG to outraged Anzacs.

Miss 4:
The aroma of Otto Bin constantly offending the noses of the designers and models backstage, and all the guests lined up outside of the Cargo Hall each show.

Miss 5:
Lunch munchies appearing erratically and disappearing faster than you could walk to them in your 6-inch stilettos.

Miss 6:
Audience members spotted dancing in the second row of seats while a show was in progress – it’s not about you so don’t try and draw attention to yourself. No one was impressed.
