So you think zombie puppets can’t dance? The latest clip for Zune Arts, “Piece of Me, Piece of You” will make you think twice. Zune Arts is a Microsoft initiative that encourages collaboration between artists and creative types, resulting in 30 second videos set to the hippest of soundtracks.
The latest Zune clip was created by directorial studio Three Legged Legs, and features some of the cutest puppets this side of Sesame Street. In “Piece of Me, Piece of You”, zombies traipse around town claiming victims whilst busting incredible moves to Chromeo’s Fancy Footwork.
Three Legged Legs collaborated with a bunch of talented artists, designers, choreographers and puppet makers to produce this endearing video. Working from initial sketches, the team handed over their 2D models to puppet makers Adam Parker Smith and Carolyn Salas who turned the zombie drawings into glorious 3D forms. From there, the zombies were poked and prodded into their dance moves by a team of puppeteers. Mastering the art of zombie dancing for these puppeteers must have been pretty easy given the shoots for the clip started at 5am.

The end product of all this creative know-how is sure to become a cult internet hit – check it out before everyone else does here, and read all about how the Three Legged Legs team did it here.
