The difference between goth and glam-goth is quite simple and is easily pulled off. Goth can be described as a more grunge look and to play into cliches, a little depressing and scary. Glam-goth is quite girly and mixes glamorous/girly/flirty pieces with a hint of grunge. It's all about darkness with this trend. Nothing works quite as well as black does.

Staples of the glam-goth trend include black tights, lace, a black dress, black lace up heeled boots and a leather jacket. Studs can be used, in moderation. The main difference between glam-goth and simply goth is the make up. One does not want to go overboard with eyeliner, black lipstick is forbidden as is making yourself ghostly white. Black nail polish is a must.
