Fresh from England, New Young Pony Club is set to be the next addiction for the dance music scene. We received a taste of their infectious, sensual, audacious vibe at last years V Festival, and now we’re addicted!
Don’t be fooled by their name, they are anything but “a 15 year old boy band singing in a garage, with leather jackets and a manifesto” says the front lady of NYPC. This new addiction fronted by Tahita Bulmer, a trained classical opera singer, along with Andy Spence, Sarah Jones, Igor Volk, and Lou Hayter, has been featured on the NME magazine’s Cool List of last year and has been described as “the most euphoric pop music on the planet”. Their head-banging vibe has taken hearts and feet to a whole new level of ecstatic happiness in which Andy hoped “to put the fun back and get people dancing”.
Their new album ‘Fantastic Playroom’ gives out an indie or dance feel, or even both. It’s safe to say that they’re harbouring on the seas of ‘anything goes’ as far as the electro, irresistible sounds of their previous singles ‘Ice Cream’, ‘The Bomb’ and ‘Get Lucky’. Their music is as infectious and energetic as their stage performance. Influenced by Iggy Pop and The Rapture, it will surely leave the lasting party fever in you!!
