Faster Louder’s Festival Awards have added the category “Best Published Festival Shot for 2008’ to reward the talent and hard work of photographers capturing our best music festival moments and memories.

This will be the first time that Australian photographers in this field will be officially recognised for their work performed often in the most challenging of conditions. Capturing those spectacular shots is definitely an art form when you consider the erratic weather, uncontrollable lighting conditions and the thousands of festivalgoers photographers must deal with.

All entries will be published on www.festivalawards.com.au with the top 5 shots to be showcased at the awards on October 15 at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory. The top 5 shots will be voted by music fans visiting the website, meanwhile the winning shot will be decided by an impressive panel of judges that includes representatives from Faster Louder, Rolling Stone, Drum Media and the Australian Centre of Photography. The winner of this prestigious award will receive great recognition within the Australian Music Industry.

Published festival photos taken between August 1st 2007 and August 7th 2008 are eligible to enter. Publishers, photographers and editors who think they may have captured something special are invited to submit entries.
