Monday Night Live- Pete Murray
The grungy-yet-charming Factory Theatre was the venue of choice for Pete Murray’s performance last night, as part of the Monday Night Live series; an event that takes place every Monday for 10 weeks and hosts a wide variety of popular Australian music talent.
Upon entering the main room of the theatre it was evident that the atmosphere was full of excitement; a room made up mostly of media, VIP’s and competition winners had gathered in anticipation of seeing an exclusive performance by Pete Murray, who was to play some of the tracks off his new album Summer At Eureka.
Never one to disappoint, Pete jumped on stage and let rip with an exclusive preview of the single off his new album. An amazing guitar solo followed, performed by the newest member of the band ……., which got the crowd whooping and wooing, and shortly after that a drum solo which blew the crowd away.
With the band and audience now feeding off each other’s energy and excitement Pete dived into a couple of classic and ever-popular PM songs to complete the night. It’s worth noting the perfectly executed guitar change from acoustic to electric mid song, as well as Pete’s golden vocals. (Does this guys’ work even get edited in the recording studio? He sounds exactly the same as his album!). So with the media fully satisfied that Pete’s album launch had been the hit they were expecting, and the competition winners stoked that they got to see an awesome performance you’d normally have to shell out at least $40 for, all for free, Pete sauntered off stage with the same level headed coolness he had appeared with, and left the punters satisfied.
Pete Murray’s new album Summer at Eureka is in stores now, and you can catch him on the Australian leg of his international tour throughout August and September. See tour dates.
