Material Boy set the mood for their collection by lining all the seats in the audience with plastic â€" creating an artificial, clean-room atmosphere. Expressionless male models stepped down the catwalk like androids, garbed in what was one of the most exciting men’s collections showcased at RAFW.

Red, black, grey, white, hot pink and a grey, green, blue white tie dye swirl pattern was the colour palette for their range â€" an almost unisex collection set to dramatic piano music. Tight shiny pants with a low crotch and above the knee fitted shorts were matched with oversized tees, long tunic style tops and paired with sneakers and sandals.

Fringing, oversized draped sleeves, metallic sheer scarves, plastic sleeves and plastic overlays on pants were also important features in this pseudo-artificial collection. Trendy boys will likely be ditching the signature flannelette shirt that has dominated lately for the large oversized shirts, tie-dye prints and shiny, low-crotched tight pants that will no doubt be setting the trends this summer from this collection.
