Reports have always said Mariah Carey is the ultimate diva and, now, I believe them

Apparently, The World Music Awards paid dearly for only 15 minutes of Mariah Carey to appear on camera.

The show organisers awarded her with a Special Achievement honor and in order to get Mariah to pick up said award at the ceremony in Monte Carlo, Monaco, they shelled out large amounts of cash.

According to the UK's Daily Mail, Mariah demanded a $156K private jet for transport to the ceremony in Monte Carlo and $15.6K a-night penthouse suite at the exclusive Hotel de Paris for two nights. She allegedly asked for similar VIP treatment at the hotel for her 15-strong entourage of stylists and personal assistants.

It was also revealed that the kitchen at the five-star hotel just wasn't quite up to Mariah's standard for dinner.
So she had renowned Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse brought to the hotel to cook her a private meal.

She was so impressed by Mr. Ducasse that she asked if he could stay and teach her how to cook his clam linguine for her boy toy Nick Cannon.

A few hours of a Michelin-starred chef's service can cost $20,000.

The paper went on to say that Mariah demanded all kinds of crazy stuff, despite being told by organisers that the current financial crises around the world had left them a little less well off.

It was also pointed out that Beyonce Knowles attended AND performed at the World Music Awards with only a quarter of the demands of Mariah's.
