After working a little over a year for MAC Cosmetics and then leaving the business I like to generally keep up on their seasonal items and special edition colors. Now at least three different seasons have gone by where I have cut those guys some slack but absolutely not anymore. Their last collections have absolutely fucking sucked so hard. I was disappointed in their Viva Glam, which they still run, and oh definitely their Barbie collection. The color palletes on all of this were HIDEOUS. I am not over exaggerating even they introduced these bright teals and aqua greens. Last time I walked into their store the counter girls were wearing it up to their eyebrows. Now I must admit, after working there your manager does get annoyed if you daily wear your make up the same way, you are encouraged to be creative with your colors, which I mean you can be without looking like a deep sea monster. I was browsing the new collections this season and over all the colors are very toned down, to bring in the bronzes of summer lighten up the eyes etc, which I know they do every year but I am all for keeping it classic. The collection I am the most disappointed with is their Nautical collection, this collection actually doesn't have terrible colors though. The problem here is the way they are applying it, a light blue I am not against if you put it against the right skin tone, but PAST YOUR EYEBROWS IN A CAT EYE SHAPE? No thank you. In the end I've come to hate MAC Cosmetics and whilst working for them I bought all their brushes :( which I am not a fan of these days. If you guys are going to buy a brush collection I high suggest the Clinique set with the metal handles. I have a few and they are amazing and last forever. Blah blah blah, you look like a whore.
