Lara Stone replaces Madonna as the new face of Louis Vuitton
Lara Stone replaces Madonna as the new face of Louis Vuitton
Move over Madge, there’s a new and fresh face for Louis Vuitton, Lara Stone. Stone is set to appear in the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 fashion campaign, and if rumours are true, the Dutch model will be replacing Madonna as the new face of the luxury label. Legendary fashion photographer Steven Meisel has rumoured to have shot the campaign in New York.

Known for fronting much better known faces such as Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova, it comes as a surprise for the brand to name Lara Stone as their upcoming representation. Madonna has shot the last two Louis Vuitton campaigns, so it will be interesting to see how Stone will match up to the world’s ‘Material Girl’. Lara marks the comeback of models fronting fashion houses, rather than the trend of celebrity faces we are all used to seeing on billboards and in magazines.

So is this confirmation that Ms. Lara has hit the big time? Most definitely! Stone has recently created much controversy over a fashion shoot in French Vogue, where her face, arms and legs were painted black. Stone is not the only new face for the Spring/Summer 2010 season, as Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Claudia Schiffer as the latest face of Chanel, along with John Galliano’s decision to make American model Karlie Kloss the face of Dior’s latest campaign.
