Australian sleepwear designer Peter Alexander is a hit with celebrities from Katherine Heigl, Kristin Cavalleri,  Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Toni Collette, Pink and Rachel Griffiths. His designer sleepwear has inspired women and men all over the globe to get into bed in comfort and style with his gorgeous ranges.

Recently Alexander opened his first flagship store in LA where Katherine Heigl served as hostess, finding common ground with the Grey's Anatomy actress with their love for sleepwear and animal rights.

Alexander's designs are cute, dreamy and the ultimate, and only way, to sleep. Peter is known for his fabulous designs that actually make people want to wear clothes to bed as well as his strong love for animals and his passion for animal charities.

In 1992 Peter was awarded Designer of The Year and won a trip to Paris. In 2002 Sheridan jumped into bed with Peter. By 2002 he had won, for the third year in a row, catalogue of the year and in 2005 the first Peter Alexander store had opened in Melbourne Central. 3 years later Peter had 20 stores in Australia and NZ and by the end of 2008 [now] his first store opened in LA.

The Peter Alexander stores can be described in one world: marvellous but one really needs to visit to get the full force of what this Aussie designer is all about. He really is a man after my own heart, sleepwear and dogs [two of my favourite things]. It's great to see an Australian do so well in America and be so loved by so many.

Peter says: I trusted my instincts. A lot of people say: “You can’t…. You shouldn’t…You won’t…” My philosophy is that if you really believe in whatever it is you are pursuing, and can afford to take the chance, go for it. Too many people say: “I hate my job, I should’ve done this,” when it’s all too late. Look at me: who would have thought I’d make a career out of pyjamas, of all things?
