Office workers, teenage girls and fashionistsas who thought they’d give Jeanswest a go, converged on Melbourne Central Wednesday night for Jeanswest/Cosmo Body Love.

Jeanswest has certainly improved in the fashion stakes, from being the lesser cousin to other jeans shops and possibly being considered a bit ‘daggy’ they’re fashion options have hit an all-time high, complete with the must haves for Winter like pussy bow blouses, knit cardigans and cute berets in a variety of colors!

Special Cosmo VIP’s were checked off as they escaped the harsh Melbourne weather and they entered a girl’s paradise; makeovers, fashion stylists, photographers and of course, massive discounts! The first half hour was a mad rush as girls rushed around trying to find their size before it sold out and take advantage of the 20% discount, but they were to find more reason to shop after the fashion parade.

Styled by Cosmo fashion editor, Nicole Adolphe, the jeans and accessories looked amazing. A real-live fashion right above a train station, who would have thought? A few of my favorites that I’ll be getting my warm mitts on this season will be the pocket scarf (a super-long scarf with pockets at the end to put your hands in), the cool print tees (a huge array of different designs for the rock goddess in you), and an awesome leather jacket that’s H-O-T with skinny jeans and a cream and navy lined pussy bow blouse; a steal at only $100!

According to Adolphe, and all the fashion shows, fringing is the trend of the moment, staying in for both winter and summer. The cute fringed, backless singlet top from Jeanswest can easily be worn for a night on the town teamed with a smart pencil skirt and smoking leather jacket. Any type of jeans seems to be IT this season, as long as it teamed with the right top and accessories of course. There are the wide leg slouch jeans, super skinny and boyfriend styles, all which can be dressed up or down with the help of a hoodie or a metallic scarf.

Cosmo VIPS were treated to dinner from Damn Fine Food and free water from Balance For Women. The Vietnamese glass noodles with Asian greens were damn fine and perfect modelesque food. When we went back to the store, waiters were on hand with fruit skewers. The re-entrance bordered on chaos as shoppers tried to create the same looks from the show and there were plenty of shop assistants on hand to help. Those with not so much money (like yours truly) decided to get a photo of themselves on a Cosmo cover and pampered by the Gorgeous cosmetics girls. Then, of course, there were the goodie bags with a free beret (lucky I didn’t buy one) and vouchers! Overall, the night was great with the fashion team really focusing on all the different body shapes and flattering styles for everyone, making it a huge success for all involved!
