The pencil skirt, mid to high waist, is a great look no matter what occasion.  Reese Witherspoon is elegant in all white.  Her pencil skirt is mid waist and is a simple look for office or a specil event.  I adore Jessica Alba's classic black pencil skirt and button-up collar top.  The belt is a great accessory, especially since it's patent leather.  My favorite of these four beautiful ladies is Eva Mendes' button pencil skirt.  The red is bold and the form-fitting navy top is just perfect.  I would recommend this look for a date or a job interview.  Hayden Panettierre's high waisted satin pencil skirt and belt is spot on and her red purse adds personality to the look.

The high waist pencil skirt flatters so many different body types.  It gives that hourglass shape to any body type.  You can dress the pencil skirt way up or casually down.  I like America Ferrera's style because she pairs her skirt with a unique teal top and peep toe shoes.  I really like Lily Allen's take on the pencil skirt because it looks very business-like but when paired with the tank it looks fresh and fun.

There are tons of ways to make this fashion trend stand out.  Hillary Duff adds a funky long necklace to her ensemble and it's totally a great look that you should consider when you're stepping in the pencil skirt.  Victoria "Posh" Beckham's color scheme is so original and modern.  I love her scarf, which would look great loose as well.
