Faking It was a conference held by the Womens Forum Australia during the world youth day events at the Darling Harbour Convention Center. Faking It is essentially a new research paper looking at the effect the mass media has on women and the sexual objectification of women. The research also looks at the early sexualisation of children.
I found the presenters empowering and motivational, making some extremly valid points. It wasn't about dissing men, it was far from it. It was about the media in general and the effect it is having on young women, actually all women across the board.
As a woman and I know the pressures women are facing in today's society. When we have new upcoming Australian labels making t-shirts with the slogans, 'It's not rape it's surprise sex' written on the front I have to say I think its time we address the problem and tell these people to get some respect.

| Yeah, totally not cool. I'm sure they'd agree if the tables were turned on them. (I'm talking about the t-shirts btw) |
