Dizingof has cemented its place in the ever competitive world of fashion in Melbourne by opening a store on High Street, Armadale. Now sharing the streets with the likes of Arabella Ramsay, Scanlan and Theodore and couture bridal shops like Baccini and Hill, Dizingof will be attracting the finest customers around.
The store is beautifully and classically designed with prints of all the current designs on the walls taken by talented photographer Rony Soltzman. A gigantic cabinet in the middle of the store houses the beautiful jewellery and stylish shoes, like lace-up knee-hi boots. Customers will be able to walk around the store in a loop trying to put that perfect outfit together, and for those exhausted from shopping and happy to watch their friends try on the clothes, a soft and luxurious couch will suit you just fine.
The opening night for the store was a classy affair, with a red carpet across the pavement for the guests to walk in on. Yellowglen Perle’ Sparking Wine was flowing freely, and Turkish bread, cheeses and nuts were there to nibble on. The shop assistants were dressed to perfection, elegantly matching outfits with clothes by Dizingof designer, Haim Bzezinski and jewellery created by Maurizio of Mazom Designs. The strong themes for the current collection continue to be purple, red, teal and black and white. Puffed sleeves were a focus on both the shop assistants and photographs by Soltzman, as were tunic dresses, voluminous wrap dresses, black sparkly mesh dresses and dramatic necklaces.
As more food was brought out like sushi and falafels, and champagne glasses were continually refreshed, gorgeous singer Shirley Davis, who also works at Dizingof, sang a few tunes. She has an absolutely amazing voice and you can check out her songs here. You may also recognize Shirley from the M magazine in The Sunday Age. She was “spotted” in the street for her gorgeous fashion sense.
As you wander around the store you’ll may struggle to remove yourself from the new ‘it’ pant of the season; the jodhpurs. Dizingof do a great version in black and there is a huge array of tops throughout the store you can team them with. Lace boots are still huge, and according to the girls that work there, “they’re actually really comfortable.” My personal favorite is the gorgeous black strapless dress that puffs out at the bottom, much like a tutu. If you can’t make it to Armadale you’re sure to find the same designs in Brunswick, Chapel Street or Albert Coates Lane in QV. So, do yourself a favor. Go for a little shopping trip and check out one of these stores, even if it’s only a bit of window shopping.
The website is also great and has the current collection online.
