I have a serious thing for DIYing, mainly because I have loads of time on my hands. So I saw the idea to make a dress out of a pillowcase in the September issue of Nylon and I had to try it out. Unfortunately, I’ve got curves like Beyonce and getting a pillowcase to stay put over my bottom half was a no go, thankfully my 5’9” model thin friend was willing to be my guinea pig. We bought a standard sized pillowcase, cut holes for her arms and head, added a sash belt and volia a dress. We underestimated on the length and should have maybe gotten a king sized pillowcase like we originally planned but that’s what God invented leggings for. It was super easy, super cute and cost ten bucks to make. Next time I think I’ll bust out a paint pen and do some freehand graffiti-esque art on the pillowcase before we turn it into anything else.
