I'll be honest with you, I bought a pair of Ray Bans about a year ago and I wore them like they were going out of fashion. Turns out I was right. Aufedersein. You are out.
Even though they make me feel instantly cool when I'm wearing trackies and a hangover, I can't help but notice (and by that I'm visually assaulted on a daily basis) that when Sydney loves something, my goodness don't they wear it to death. Ugh, so along with these sunnies, you’re dead to me fluoro, flannel and fedoras.

The iconic Wayfarer shape has had its time in the sun (hah, sun... sunglasses, nice!) and quite frankly I'm glad. The big question is what will this summer's hit facial accessory be? Omar seluj have stepped up to the plate, and far from wanting to be the next big trend; their aim is to provide a solution to the eternal problem of looking like the anti-inspirational clones that seem to rule all public spaces everywhere.

Straight from the horse's mouth, the boys describe the brand as unique, "If rocking up to the beach, a festival or just walking to get a pack of smokes and seeing 30 million other kids in the same sunnies as you is not your cup of tea, then be one of the only people to own omar seluj. Our designs are awesome."
Now I love a bit of positive self-talk as much as the next person but in this case, it's quite valid. The designs are great, head-turning, face-melting, stuff o’ legends great and with the added bonus of actually being top quality. Handcrafted acetate frames with UV 400 lenses (I think that means they're the best). There is a limited run of 100 for each style/ colour combination so get in fast before you're stuck wearing last years shades :)

Currently omar seluj sunnies are only available online at www.omarseluj.com but check out the brand’s MySpace and facebook for some pretty hilarious galleries of the omar seluj fanclub.
