Last Thursday night saw the Bettina Liano’s Chapel Street store more crowded than it had ever been before. In fact, by the time the night really got started the store was so crowded that it was nearly impossible to move from one end of the store to another.
The reason for this? Believe it or not there was no sale involved; instead Melbourne’s most fashionable citizens came out in force to celebrate the relaunch of the store after being closed for four months for renovations.
While Bettina Liano herself didn’t make it to the launch, new Neighbours recruits Erin McNaught and Imogen Bailey, Vanessa Amorosi and Jemma Gawned were among countless other members of the fashion forward who came to check out the new look store, the latest season’s fashion and to sip on champagne.
As for the store itself, it was well worth the four month wait. Just like the clothes themselves the store is classic, yet perfectly on trend. With a monochromatic colour scheme, so many mirrors that it’s possible to check out your reflection from every angle, and a whole wall devoted to the label’s trademark skinny jeans there was no way that they could have gone wrong.
There is no doubt that those at the launch will be rushing back to the store during its open hours, having spent much of the launch thinking about how much they really need those biker gloves. Or maybe that was just me…
