My view of America was converted a few years back whilst visiting San Francisco, just like my view of make up was converted last night at the Benefit Pink Lady Party.

This gorgeously packaged make-up brand, originating from San Francisco, isn’t just about pretty packaging. Created by sisters Jean and Jane Ford, Benefit’s actual product consists of just as high a quality as its boxes and labels. Their products have got many a celebrity endorsement in Hollywood, and after trying the goods myself last night I can see why.

The Pink Lady Party was appropriately held and the beautifully trendy Fringe Bar in Paddington. The space was set up with 3 beauty bars, tricked out with the latest Benefit “wonder products” making our lives easier – High Beam, That Girl and Posie Tint. Hannah, the store manager at Paddington, was lovely and really knew her stuff, taking a make-up dumby like me through each step of the application, as I watched in fascination as my friends face transformed from ‘natural beauty’ to ‘primped and primed’ in 5 minutes. One lucky lady also walked away with the jam packed door prize - a Benefit goodie bag stuffed to the brim!

Eagerly trialling my goodie bag samples and flicking through the brochure (or “menu” as it’s referred to) I found myself circling pretty much every product I came across – a first for a make up minimalist such as myself.

Now offering walk-in waxing and tinting, rest assured I will be back to the Benefit store quicker than you can say “Talk To The Tan” 
