6 Beers of Separation: Interviews with the Finalists
2threads recently got chatting to the four finalists of the popular Extra Dry '6 Beers of Separation' campaign. '6 Beers of Separation' has seen four lucky finalists travel the world, with a 6 pack of Extra Dry in hand, in the hopes of meeting their ultimate celebrity hero. We chatted to Meaghan Blake and Oliver Clark about living out of a suitcase and their journey so far...

Meaghan Blake:
2threads: How is the 6 Beers of Separation journey going so far?
Meaghan: The journey is pretty hectic, constantly on the go from place to place!
2threads: What made you initially want to be involved in this campaign?
Meaghan: A friend suggested it
2threads: Can you explain the main reason you wanted to meet Good Charlotte?
Meaghan: I wanted to meet Good Charlotte because they have come a long way as artists. They started as a punk rock band that could have easily been a flash in the pan, but have gone on to evolve musically, as well as with their other creative pursuits, such as their fashion label.
2threads: Did you pack the perfect outfit to wear for when you finally get to meet your hero?
Meaghan: I packed a lot of outfits!! Being in my band the Kandy Apples, I'm very aware of my image and what I want to convey visually, but it’s hard to remain stylish out of a suitcase -I wish I had more room in my suitcase!
2threads: What are your thoughts on the 6 Degrees of Separation theory- do you think your experience so far has proven it to be fact or fiction?
Meaghan: I think the six degrees theory is interesting. In the local Australian scene, it may be even less than 2 degrees!

We also chatted to Oliver Clark about his quest to meet fellow comedian Will Arnett:
2threads: How is the 6 Beers of Separation journey going so far?
Oliver: Well, up to this point, the journey has been very exciting indeed. Some things have gone according to plan, and some things haven’t, but as my mother once said, “…sometimes it’s worth burning your hands on the fry-pan of life, because you’ll end up using a fork to eat anyway.” She was wearing oven-mitts at the time.
2threads: What made you initially want to be involved in this campaign?
Oliver: The chance to potentially meet a few interesting people and make some good contacts was an opportunity I would never refuse. That’s just not who I am, damn it!
2threads: Can you explain the main reason you wanted to meet Will Arnett?
Oliver: Aside from loving what he does, I thought Will Arnett would be great to meet because as a relative new-comer to mainstream audiences, he could potentially offer some knowledge into the current industry and give me some advice on the best way to approach it.
2threads: Did you pack the perfect outfit to wear for when you finally get to meet your hero?
Oliver: Yes…my blue velvet suit.
2threads: What are your thoughts on the 6 Degrees of Separation theory- do you think your experience so far has proven it to be fact or fiction?
So far, it’s hard to say. Hasn’t worked out too well up till now, but me thinks it might work out just fine.
