2008 ARIA Awards
The ARIA's held at Acer Arena in Sydney this year (Sunday 19, October) was a night to see and be seen. Sadly, viewers didn't tune in, in droves as expected but the night was still full of music, celebrities and fashion disasters.
The night brought out the best in Australian musical talent and left much to be desired. The main winner of the night was 16 year old Gabriella Cilmi who won Highest Selling Single for 'Sweet About Me', Best Pop Release 'Lessons To Be Learned', Breakthrough Artist: Single 'Sweet About Me', Breakthrough Artist: Album 'Lessons To Be Learned', Best Female Artist and Single of The Year for 'Sweet About Me'.

Her fashion choices left a lot to be desired. A gold bubble dress, boots and re-growth does not make for an ARIA winning songstress.
Delta Goodrem won for Highest Selling Album 'Delta' but she did not attend. The Audreys won Best Blues and Roots Album for 'When the Flood Comes'. Other winners included: The Wiggles (Best Children's Album), The Presets (Best Dance Release and Album of the Year), Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson (Best Country Album) and Best Male Artist went to Nick Cave.
Sam Sparro tripped on his shirt-muu-muu during his performance and The Veronicas went home empty handed.

Newly single American singer, Pink, kicked off a blockbuster performance in black hotpants and a black top, unbuttoned to show off her black bra. She entered the stage riding a lawnmower but her red carpet look wasn't as impressive.

The Presets performed their huge hit 'My People' live, dressed in capes, feathers and kid's toys.
Despite everyone's best intentions Gabriella Cilmi was the hit of the night, outdoing both Pink and The Presets.
